Across four sessions, students explored the Mahabharata not simply as an ancient epic, but as a mirror for their own decision-making. Each session built upon the last, creating a progression from awareness to responsibility. Session 1 - Seeing Clearly Before Acting Krishna · Arjuna Students began by exploring emotional overwhelm and the need for clarity before action. Kurukshetra is a strategic deck-building battle game inspired by the Mahabharata. Players begin with simple farmhands and sevaks and gradually build powerful decks of warriors, weapons, and sacred chants. Each turn balances preparation and action—strengthening your deck, controlling the center battlefield, or attacking your opponent directly. Victory comes not from brute force, but from timing, smart sacrifices, and choices whose consequences unfold with every reshuffle.

Organized for the first time by three organizations coming together - Rewild Long Island, Science Museum of Long Island and YICG GVLP - Gita Vicara Leadership Program. This was a youth interfaith event and the goal was to provide youth of all backgrounds with an opportunity to reflect into self and identity, nature and ecosystems, and come away with actions to further spiritual progress while making the world a better place.
