GVLP 2026–27: Play. Design. Discover. Lead.

A new year at GVLP brings a new kind of adventure—where timeless wisdom meets creativity, games and real-world skills. Students in Grades 7–12 will explore the Bhagavad Gita, design together, challenge ideas, build friendships and turn learning into action. At the center of it all is our most ambitious design challenge yet: Asvattha Mystery Design Lab.

Come ready to question, create, play—and surprise yourself with what you can build.

Asvattha Mystery Design Lab

20 Verses. 10 Missions. 1 Playable Mystery.

What if you could explore Bhagavad Gita Chapter 15 by actually building a mystery game? Students will uncover the ideas of the Asvattha tree—roots, branches, illusion, karma and dharma—and transform them into clues, characters, twists and game mechanics. Inspired by the Ramayana, each team will take an idea from first clue to final reveal. By the end, they won't just have studied a chapter—they'll have created a game of their own.

Learn by Designing

GVLP is not about sitting back and listening. Students brainstorm, experiment, prototype, playtest, debate and improve—learning to separate facts from assumptions and evidence from speculation along the way. They'll discover that great game design requires the same skills that matter in life: curiosity, creativity, resilience and the willingness to rethink an idea when it doesn't work.

Build More Than a Game

Every team becomes a mini design studio, with students rotating through creative and leadership roles. They'll learn to collaborate, communicate, manage a project, give feedback and confidently defend their ideas. There will be disagreements, unexpected discoveries and plenty of failed prototypes—and that's where some of the best learning happens.

AI as a Thinking Partner

This year, students will also explore how to use AI wisely—not simply to get answers, but to ask better questions. With guided tools such as NotebookLM, they'll test theories, challenge assumptions and deepen their thinking while keeping creativity and decision-making their own. In an AI-powered world, knowing how to think may be the most valuable skill of all.

ReWild • Seva • Community

GVLP continues beyond the design table through ReWild experiences, Games for Seva, community events, teachings and service opportunities. Students get outside, connect with others and find ways to turn ideas and values into action. Because leadership isn't only about what you know—it's about what you choose to do with it.

One Year. A Lot to Discover.

Our goal is simple: create a place where teens genuinely want to show up—to play, question, create, belong and grow. Along the way, we hope they discover that the Bhagavad Gita isn't simply something to study; its ideas can help them understand choices, relationships, challenges and themselves a little better.
