A Year of Stories, Sadhana & Celebration
Honoring the timeless epic through study, reflection, and joyful engagement
I. Introduction: A Festival Beyond Time
Why the Ramayana? The Ramayana is more than a story—it is a guiding light for values, culture, and self-discovery. Across generations, it has been recited, enacted, and lived, shaping how we understand duty, devotion, and leadership.
Why a yearlong festival?Instead of a single-day celebration, a yearlong exploration allowed for deeper engagement. Each activity offered unique perspectives—some intellectual, some devotional, and others playful—creating a rich, immersive experience.
The YICG vision: Merging study, devotion, and interactive engagementBy combining book discussions, games, youth mentorship, storytelling, and devotional gatherings, the festival ensured participation across all age groups, making the Ramayana come alive in different dimensions.
Overview of the FestivalThe festival was a journey, not just an event. Through reading, reflection, dialogue, games, and celebration, we engaged with the epic in ways both traditional and modern, culminating in a grand finale on Ram Navami 2026.

V. The Grand Finale: Ramayana Tabletop Games & Culmination on Ram Navami 2026
🎭 A Celebration of the Ramayana Spirit Through Play
The culminating event of the Year-Long Ramayana Festival brought together an innovative and thrilling collection of tabletop games that captured the spirit, strategy, and moral lessons of the Ramayana. These games were designed to engage players of all ages, blending skill, strategy, and storytelling to bring the legendary epic to life in a playful yet meaningful way.
From testing one's dharma to building Lanka’s bridge and flicking pucks like Hanuman leaping over the ocean, each game added a hands-on, immersive dimension to the festival’s finale.
Here’s a look at these epic tabletop challenges:
A. SwayamBow
🏹 “Channel your inner Rama—break the mold (or the bow) and recreate the epic challenge!”(Alternate Name: Ramayana Replication Rumble)
Inspired by Rama’s legendary feat of breaking Shiva’s bow, this game challenges players to replicate images within a time limit.
Teams of two compete to recreate a selected image, testing memory, coordination, and artistic skill.
Blindfolded Mode adds an extra challenge—one player verbally instructs their partner to reconstruct the image without seeing it!
Scoring is based on accuracy and difficulty level, with bonus points for memory-based and blindfolded rounds.
🏆 The team with the highest cumulative score wins, proving their ability to channel Rama’s focus and strength!
B. Sanjeevani Slide
🩺 “Flick your way to victory like Hanuman retrieving the mountain of Sanjeevani—heroics required!”(Alternate Name: Puck of Life)
Inspired by Hanuman’s daring quest to bring the Sanjeevani herb, this game turns precision and strategy into a heroic flicking challenge.
Players flick pucks of different sizes onto a scoring zone, multiplying their score based on where they land.
Strategic nudging is allowed—players can bump their pucks into higher-scoring regions for a better chance of victory.
Penalty for falling off the table—just like Hanuman had to be precise in retrieving the right mountain!
🏆 The player or team with the highest points at the end wins, embodying Hanuman’s swift determination!
C. Nala Setu
🌉 “Build bridges like Hanuman’s legendary path to Lanka—swift, steady, and spectacular!”(Alternate Name: Bridge to Lanka Blitz)
Just as Rama’s army built a bridge to Lanka, players must race to complete structures using colored blocks and Uzzle cards.
Each correct structure earns a token, contributing to the completion of the bridge on the game board.
Speed and accuracy matter—the first player to place their token adds a block to the Lanka bridge.
Different challenge levels make it exciting for all ages!
🏆 The first player to complete enough tokens wins, symbolizing the completion of the sacred bridge!
D. Rama’s Golf (Ram Golf)
⛳ “Fore! Flick your block like a hero—and steer clear of those red zones, or face your fate!”(Alternate Name: Divine Flicks)
A dexterity-based flicking game where players aim to land their block tiles on target bands, avoiding obstacles and penalties.
Rolling a dice determines flicking turns—players must use strategy to reach the target in the fewest flicks.
Red zones act as instant elimination areas—a direct nod to the challenges of fate and karma in the Ramayana.
Team variation adds cooperative gameplay, making it an engaging experience for pairs.
🏆 The player with the most precise flicks and highest score wins, proving their skill and divine control!
E. Dharma Rajyam
⚖️ “Enter Rama’s righteous kingdom—where every moral choice counts and dharma prevails!”(Alternate Name: The Dharmic Dilemma)
A thought-provoking game that tests players on their dharmic decision-making through moral dilemmas inspired by the Ramayana.
Each player is presented with a scenario—they must choose the most dharmic response.
The final question is revealed to be based on Vibhishana’s story, showing how choices affect the path of righteousness.
Bonus points for creative and deeply ethical responses—players can justify their choices based on scripture and reasoning.
🏆 The player with the highest dharmic score wins, proving their wisdom and moral strength!
F. Guess the Ramayana Picture (Pictionary: Ramayana Edition)
🎨 “Relive the epic saga—guess the legendary scenes of the Ramayana, block by block!”(Alternate Name: Epic Blockbusters)
A creative and interactive game where teams build and guess iconic Ramayana scenes using Blokus blocks.
The designated builder constructs the scene, while the other team tries to guess within 30 seconds.
Scenes range from Hanuman’s leap to Sita’s trial by fire, adding excitement and challenge.
Hilarious and unexpected interpretations often make this game a memorable experience.
🏆 The first team to reach 5 points wins, proving their knowledge of the epic and creative problem-solving skills!
