OUR VERSION OF SHARK TANK WHERE THREE TEAMS PITCH THEIR GAME PROTOTYPES
7-9 grade kids are introduced to a set of games previously developed
They now improvise and create variations of the games play-tested
After learning how game mechanics and design thinking works three teams emerge.
Every team gets a similar set of cards based on theme Prithvi - Mother Earth
The content of the cards include Values from Gita, Characters from the Itihasa and Puranas, a set of 10 ‘R’ cards and several goals and obstacles that connect and challenge our Earth’s Ecosystem.
For next few weeks each team brainstorms on a core concept or main idea of their game.
Next they apply design thinking logic to eliminate or add elements needed for their prototypes - What cards are applicable, what is the goal of the game, general playing strategies
A draft finally emerges and the teams are thrilled to playtest it with a larger audience at the Gamestorming event on Dec 10th
The teams gather constructive criticism and valuable feedback at the event
Next up the teams face the challenge of asking themselves… should we make edits? or redo the whole idea? or ignore the feedback received as we are confident about our product??
After many versions the games are now fine tuned - time limit, age group- number of players- game name-game logo - tag line etc
Rule books and presentation pitches are developed
The Grand Finale on March 31st - all 3 teams Blitz off to impress the Might Bees
