Call to College Students & Young Professionals-Games for Seva

As someone who had a first hand experience with the program, I urge others to consider attending the one-week Games for Seva camp at AVG, during their summer breaks from college or from the working schedule. Games for Seva is  a pioneering YICG initiative to harness the creative forces in the community to create games in the spirit of Seva. These Vedic theme based games entertain and educate, providing valuable resources for play, teaching and family bonding. I am extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit the Gurukul and work with the outstanding group of individuals on the Games for Seva team. After this experience, I truly believe that I have not only helped to preserve our Hindu culture for future generations but have also deepened my own understanding and connection with our teachings. The scenic, spiritual, and renowned Arsha Vidya Gurukul in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania provides the perfect environment for students to work, play, and recharge.

For as long as we can remember, we have been attending classes at

YICG on a weekly basis. It is as much a part of our lives and routine as school and we are as much part of its community as we are our home ones.  Yet once we leave for college, many of us lose our connection to this organization we were once so closely tied to. With the development of Games for Seva, however, an opportunity has been created for rising college freshman and sophomores to not only reconnect with their Hindu heritage but also contribute to the sustenance and teaching of this heritage.
